Have you ever paid for a porn site, then cancelled your membership only to find out later that they were still charging you? Then you have to contact the biller, contact your credit card company and argue with them all to get the charges to stop. What a pain in the ass!

Well if you want to check out a porn site but don't want to get caught in the reoccurring monthly billing trap. All you have to do is get a Visa gift card and just use it as a regular credit card. Make sure that you have enough on the card to cover the fee for however many months you want to be a member of the site.

If the web site asks for your phone number when filling out the billing information give them a fake one. While I haven't had this happen to me I have heard it's possible that they can charge the membership fee to your phone bill. Of course if you give a fake number then there is no way for the billing company to contact you should they need to but that shouldn't be a problem because they can only charge you for what you put on the gift card. Cancel your membership when you're done. Keep the gift card until you cancel your membership because you may need the number off the card to cancel the subscription. Keep track of when you joined so that you cancel before the next billing period.

This trick won't get you free access or do anything shady. What this will do for you is make the billing company unable to charge you for anything other then what you want to pay for. Some unscrupulous sites will try to bill you after you cancel. Then you have to argue with your credit card company and you wind up paying for an extra month or two before you can stop the billing. When I got caught in this trap years ago the credit card company told me that I would still be libel for paying even if I canceled the credit card! This will avoid all that. The only down side to this trick is that you have to pay a $5 - $10 fee for the gift card. So you will wind up paying a little extra for your porn but it'll be far less then if you got caught in the reoccurring billing trap. Plus they don't have your real credit card number and you have no embarrassing questions to answer to your wife or your credit card company when the bill comes around.

I assume no responsibility for anything that happens if you use the gift card method. It should be safe but I've only used it once so far. However as long as you're not trying to do anything shady yourself, like get a free access, you shouldn't have any problems. You're just paying for what you asked for and making them unable to take anything else. This is also why I say you should cancel your membership rather then let them try to charge you and find out they can't. If you do that it makes you look bad. If you cancel on time only the shady sites and billers will have complaints. If anyone comes back to you all you have to say is I cancelled my membership on time. I did nothing wrong. They were the ones who tried to take my money.
